We are excited to welcome delegates to Glasgow for the 23rd International Myeloma Society Annual Meeting and Exposition. Whether you’re traveling from within the UK, Europe, or further abroad, Glasgow is welcoming, diverse, and vibrant.

Getting to Glasgow

Glasgow is well connected and easily accessible by train and air from destinations across the UK, Europe, and beyond.

By Train

Glasgow is well connected to the rest of the UK by two main train stations:

  • Glasgow Central Station links Glasgow to the south of the UK.
  • Glasgow Queen Street Station operates routes mainly to Edinburgh and the north of Scotland.

By Air

Glasgow is easily accessible via three international airports: Glasgow Airport, Glasgow Prestwick Airport, and Edinburgh Airport.

Glasgow Airport (GLA) is the closest airport to the city center, with travel time of approximately 15 minutes.

Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is 39 miles (63 km) from Glasgow.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) is 32 miles (51 km) from Glasgow.

Ground Transportation

ScotRail

Glasgow Central Station links the city by rail to the south and west. Glasgow Queen Street Station operates routes to the north and east, including Edinburgh. Visit ScotRail for information on all routes and timetables.

Discounted rail tickets are available to conference delegates via the Conference Rover ticket program. Travel around by rail for up to five days for just £5. Tickets can be purchased at any ScotRail station within the Conference Zone by showing your conference badge.

Subway

The subway is one of the easiest ways to get around the city center, west end, and southside of Glasgow. Running every 4 minutes at peak times, it takes just 24 minutes to complete a circuit of the 15 stations.

Taxis and Rideshares

Glasgow Taxis operates 5- and 6-seater cabs throughout the city. If the yellow light is on, taxis can be flagged down on the street. Alternatively, call +44 (0) 141 429 70 70 to book.

Uber also operates in the city of Glasgow.
